History

Arzola began during my university years. When I was in the third year of my pharmacy degree, I was already beginning to explore the world of cosmetics. It was not until the fifth year that the subject of medicinal plants taught by Gerardo Stübing changed my path. From that moment on I decided that I wanted to learn everything related to the world of plants.

Once already in the working world, and having recently graduated as a pharmacist, I began to make replacements in various pharmacy offices in Northern Spain. Mainly in small villages where nature is always within reach at all times. It is in a small town of Bierzo where I found a lichen (a symbiosis between an algae and a fungus), which due to the daily use given to it by its inhabitants, I decided to investigates its properties trough an ethnobotanical study.

While I was carrying out this study, I incorporated this lichen into previous formulas, thus consolidating a formula which, thanks to the people who use it for various ailments, I decided to patent and commercialize.

Arzola is today the result of several years of research that have accompanied me throughout this time.

I would like to thank the university of Valencia, especially Pilar Soriano (teacher and researcher), the Catholic University of Valencia, my fellow researchers and the inhabitants of Matarossa del Sil for their unconditional support and faith in this project.
